Round Rock Makes Fourth of July an All Day Celebration

Patriotic party planners, put your pencils down! Frontier Days in Round Rock has everything you could want to do for the whole summer rolled into one day, and the cherry on top? It’s free and all in observance of Independence Day.

The day kicks off with the Sertoma July 4th Parade which features giant helium inflatables, marching bands, and proceeds on a 1.5-mile route on Mays Street, between Mays Crossing and Highway 79. If you’re hoping to beat the heat, you’re in luck - the parade goes from 9 - 11 AM.

The parade has become a staple event for the city as residents and visitors from surrounding neighborhoods gather to watch floats, hot rods, performers, and well-loved citizens march down the streets.

After watching the parade, make your way to Old Settlers Park as the Frontier Days Festival begins at 12 PM. The first few hours will include events like the Swifty Swine Pig Races, a pepper eating contest, and a few mock-shootouts by stunt men. From 3 - 7 PM, your family can enjoy free games, inflatable obstacle courses, slides, and more. Carnival rides and vendors will take over the park, and if that’s not enough to convince you to join the spectacular event, free ice cream will be served at 7 PM.

When the sun starts to set, grab a seat and prepare for a fireworks show that’s bigger and better than ever. After it’s over, stick around for Movies in the Park. Captain Marvel is being shown and ends the night with a bang.

Round Rock and the surrounding areas are always hosting community events that boast hometown goodness. If this is something you’re looking for in your next move, reach out to me. I’m always happy to help you find your dream home in your ideal neighborhood.
